  • Do you clean furniture?

No we don't, but you can call Derek Johnson, the owner of Kleen King. He does phenomenal work on furniture and carpets and has been a friend of the family for many many years.

  • Is my furniture worth reupholstering?
         (Complete Upholstery. Not repair.)

Yes, you can save thousands on your quality furniture BUT sometimes it's not if you're upholstering a "door buster deal" piece of furniture.

Here's why:

If you're looking to do complete upholstery on your furniture there are some things to consider. Ephraim and I frequently look at showrooms to see what we're up against. We constantly see incredible deals; $399 - $799 for a couch, or $799 - $1799 for a sectional. They are able to offer those incredible deals because of several things: They start with cheap wood that's not made to last, they use cheap foam that only lasts months, they buy fabric in bulk quantity which cuts down on cost drastically and sometimes cheap vinyl that will delaminate, they use very cheap labor (probably not made in the US which is pennies on the dollar) and there can be flaws in the labor due to the mass quantity.  All of that combined gives them the edge to offer rock bottom deals.

When you reupholster your furniture with us you're getting MUCH more! We use all upholstery weight fabrics and high resilient foam (if you're replacing the foam as well) that is made to last much longer than those door buster deals in the store. Ephraim and our upholstery technicians have many years of experience and personally work to make your furniture look better than new and last longer. We match up patterns and stripes and stitch lines are always straight and tight. I can't count the number of times I've looked at store bought pieces and they have failed to do this.

Reupholstering your furniture is a custom project that can give you the look you've always wanted while keeping the furniture you love.

  • How much does it cost to reupholster my couch, love seat, chair, etc?

We get this question daily. There are a lot of factors involved: The style of furniture (which determines the hours of labor), decorative nails, welts, zippers, and fabric. There is such a wide range that we can't answer that question without photos. We always ask for pictures of the front, side and back. Then we'll give you a quote on labor and how many yards it requires. From there you can stop in and pick out your fabric and determine the exact final cost.

  • How much does it cost to repair my furniture?

The only way to answer this is to send us photos or bring it in. There a lot of factors involved: The style of furniture (which determines the hours of labor), decorative nails, welts, zippers, and fabric. We always ask for pictures of the front, side and back. Then we'll give you a quote on labor and how many yards it requires. Since we're matching up fabric we can give you an idea on the cost of fabric but for a true match up we'll need to see the furniture in person so we can match it to our books. Pictures and screens do not show true color. Something grey can look rose colored so it's impossible to match colors through email or text even with technology these days.

  • My dog ate my couch!!!! Help!

We get rescue calls weekly...almost daily. We've seen it all! We even had a dog that chewed a hole in the carpet of the girls mother's car. We came to the rescue and mom never knew! Phew! We can repair anything but in some cases the dog has destroyed every corner of the couch. In this case, he's probably damaged every panel. We can try to "save" it by taking up on the corners and sewing it back together. If the dog has eaten fabric, and there's not enough fabric to pull and take up, then we have to replace the fabric. That's when it becomes a complete upholstery job and not just a repair. We'll probably have to replace some foam as well (that's their favorite part to eat.)

  • Is vinyl as good as leather? And what is recycled or bonded leather?

How long does it last?

Vinyl has come a long way over the years. We use it on high volume booths on the Las Vegas strip and 99% of the repairs are due to vandalism, puncture holes or slices. Very rarely do we repair do to the wear. Our vinyls are made for commercial use and usually the dry Vegas air or cleaning chemicals will effect it before it ever wears out. In Vegas, leather needs to be treated more than normal to prevent drying out and usually lasts the same amount of time as vinyl.

How does it feel?

Leather is created through the tanning of animal skin or hides. The material is rich, flexible and soft to the touch. Vinyl, on the other hand, is a synthetic substance composed of resin or plastic. The material is very versatile and used in a variety of manners. Though vinyl can be made to look almost identical to leather but it’s the softness that is a very important attribute in leather.

What is the cost difference?

Leather is priced per hide and vinyl is per yard. Leather is high dollar and vinyl is very affordable even with commercial grade.

What is Recycled Leather or Bonded Leather?

Our favorite is The ReCast® Collection. The cost is slightly more than vinyl but It looks and feels like genuine top grain leather. It's difficult to tell the difference between real leather upholstery and ReCast® bonded leather upholstery. Made with recycled leather particles bonded to the back of the fabric, ReCast contains about 18% recycled leather. The surface of ReCast® bonded leather upholstery is polyurethane giving it exceptional performance qualities and a true leather-like feel. Each pattern has tremendous physical properties, is easy to clean, and will easily exceed 100,000 Wyzenbeek abrasion cycles.

  • Do I need to supply my own fabric?

Nope! In fact, when you purchase fabric with us you get discounted labor and a 1-year limited warranty. Not only that but we only offer upholstery weight fabrics that are meant for your application.

  • Do you have upholstery weight fabric & how can I tell?

Yes, that is all we carry so you will know that the fabric you get with us is right for the job.

How can I tell?

On the back of the fabric you'll see "double rubs" or "abrasion cycles." This statistic with a funny name actually says a lot about the strength of a fabric. Double rubs are a measurement of a fabric’s abrasion resistance. They are listed with most fabrics and are helpful in determining which fabric is right for your particular application. Each back and forth motion across the fabric is one double rub. It is tested until there is noticeable wear.

Take a look at our chart below and you'll see that we only carry quality fabrics. We do NOT carry delicate or light duty. In fact, only a small amount of our fabrics are residential medium duty and residential heavy duty because we carry STRONGER than that! Most our our fabrics are commercial grade quality at 50,000 double rubs to 250,000 or more! That's off the charts!

Chart:

Double Rubs for Residential Applications

Delicate Duty: Less than 3,000 double rubs. Recommended for more decorative use as in curtains, drapes or pillows.

Light Duty: 3,000-9,000 double rubs. Usually better suited for formal or occasional use furniture.

Medium Duty: 9,000-15,000 double rubs. Versatile. Good for living or family rooms.

Heavy Duty: 15,000+ double rubs. Suitable for family rooms.

Double Rubs for Commercial Applications

Contract Upholstery Minimum: 15,000 double rubs is considered the minimum for general contract, commercial upholstery projects.

Heavy Duty: 15,000-30,000 double rubs. Suitable for single shift offices, conference rooms, hotel rooms and dining areas.

Extra-Heavy Duty: 30,000+ double rubs. Recommended for constant use as in hospital waiting areas, airport terminals, fast food restaurants, theaters, and stadiums.

  • Can my frame be fixed?

Yes, we can take apart your upholstery, repair and reinforce your frame, and reinstall the upholstery.

  • Do you repair webbing and 8-way ties?

Yes, absolutely. Usually the upholstery is so worn that we are reupholstering the furniture at the same time but we can remove the upholstery, repair the furniture and reinstall the upholstery as well.

  • Do you dye fabric, vinyl or leather?

No, we do not. Try calling Dirk Cook with Executive Restoration at (702) 460-1254

  • Can you spot repair a cut or burn?

We can replace the panel but we don't do spot repairs. For spot repairs call Dirk Cook with Executive Restoration at (702) 460-1254

  • Can you install my own convertible top?

Yes, we can install your top or ours.

  • Can you glue or sew in my back window on my convertible?

Unfortunately it's not something we do. Can it be done? Yes. Will it last? No, and that's one reason why we don't. The other reason is because usually the top is too old to remove and reinstall. It will fall apart. Once it dry rot's it tears like a piece of paper.

We can replace the whole top or if it's a 2-piece top then we can just replace the rear. If it's old then we recommend replacing the whole top. If the top is new but the window broke then it would be okay to replace just the rear.

  • Can you install my own seat covers or kit?

Yes, and we'll build up the foam to make it look like new!

  • Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we offer a 1-year limited warranty. We're the only shop in Vegas who stands behind their work!
